Oliver Chan is happy with "Still Human" two awards win

10 May – Hong Kong filmmaker Oliver Chan recently admitted that she did not expect to win anything at all when she participated in the Udine Far East Film Festival.

As reported on Singtao, the director, whose film "Still Human" brought home both the Critics Award and the Top Audience Award from the Italian festival, shared that she only came to the city to promote the film, which had its European premiere during the festival.

"Somehow, I was able to return home with these [accolades]. It was really unexpected," she enthused.

Oliver also stated that she was happy to receive such recognition from an international festival, despite the different cultural environment.

"It is clear that the common thing that everybody has is interpersonal relationship and the pursuit of dreams. These awards are a great encouragement for the team especially since it means that both the critics and the audience appreciated it," she said.
