'Time is quickly ticking away:' OLG warns of $70 million unclaimed lottery ticket nearing expiry
What would you do if you were $70 million richer?
Better empty those purses or wallets in search of a misplaced lottery ticket as the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) warns of an unclaimed $70 million ticket purchased last summer in the province that is nearing expiry.
The LOTTO MAX ticket — purchased on June 28, 2022 at an authorized lottery retailer in Scarborough, ON. is set to expire on June 28, and if unclaimed, the funds will be returned to players through future bonus games or promotions, according to OLG.
The winning numbers for the June 28, 2022 LOTTO MAX draw are – 8, 19, 22, 41, 42, 46, 47 Bonus 10.
"We ask OLG lottery players to check places where they usually store their tickets, such as in clothing pockets, personal accessories (i.e. handbags, backpacks, wallets, computer bags), your vehicle’s glove compartments or sun-visors, kitchen, bedroom or office drawers," OLG wrote in a statement.
If you do happen to stumble across a ticket from the June 28, 2022 LOTTO MAX draw or have any lottery ticket you want to check, OLG is urging players to check the numbers through their online app, at any OLG self-checker or through the lottery terminal at any authorized retailer.
If your search comes up empty-handed, you may still have another shot at winnings ranging from $10,000 up to $1,000,000 as there are currently 21 unclaimed prizes listed on OLG's website as of February 16, 2023.
Social media users are chiming in with a wide array of responses.
One woman tweeted that if the ticket is a burden to whomever is holding it, to get in touch with her.
