It's official! Rami Malek is a Bond villain

He'd easily pull off playing Bond too, looking this suave in a suit.

‏‏26 Apr - Two months after it was reported that "Bond 25" producers were not giving up hope on casting Rami Malek as the villain for the movie, fans can now sip their shaken martinis coolly, knowing that the actor has finally signed on for the role.

The Oscar-winning "Bohemian Rhapsody" star has long been courted for the role and his involvement was confirmed during the launch of the latest 007 movie yesterday, BBC News reported.

Even though the Egyptian-American actor was unable to join the launch in Jamaica, as he said that he was "stuck" in New York for a different filming, he did send a video message.

"I will be making sure Mr. Bond does not have an easy ride in this, his 25th outing," the new Bond villain promised.

Malek's character is described as "a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology".

Aside from Malek, new faces in the cast include English actress Lashana Lynch ("Captain Marvel"), Cuban actress Ana de Armas ("Blade Runner 2049"), US actor Billy Magnussen ("Black Mirror"), Swedish-Danish actor David Dencik ("The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo") and French newcomer Dali Benssalah ("Red").

The newbies join returning stars Daniel Craig, who will be reprising the titular role for the last time, Ralph Fiennes as M, Ben Whishaw as Q, Naomie Harris as Moneypenny, Rory Kinnear as Bill Tanner, Lea Seydoux as Madeleine Swann and Jeffrey Wright as ex-CIA agent Felix Leiter.

Production on the movie will be done on location in Jamaica, London, Norway and Italy as well as at Pinewood Studios in the UK.

Slated for release in April 2020, the movie's official synopsis revealed that it follows Bond as he enjoys a tranquil life in Jamaica after leaving active service. When his old friend Leiter from the CIA seeks him out for help, he embarks on a mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist, leading him onto the trail of a mysterious villain who possesses dangerous new technology.

There is, however, still no official title for the upcoming Bond movie.
