Off-White’s Nike Rubber Dunk Collaboration Releases Next Week

Sneaker fans won’t have to wait much longer before they can get their hands on Off-White and Nike’s next sneaker collaboration.

The sportswear giant has confirmed today that the highly-anticipated Off-White x Nike Rubber Dunk will be launching early next month. The shoe is presented in a trio of colorways including “Green Strike,” “University Gold,” and “University Blue” with each makeup referencing a different era. The gold-based makeup celebrates the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta. The white iteration is an homage to the general release color schemes of Nike sneakers in the 2000s. The black pair is inspired by designer Virgil Abloh’s go-to color scheme on sneakers for everyday life.

According to the Swoosh, the low-profile silhouette combines design elements from its popular Nike Pegasus running line with the Nike Dunk model to honor the brand’s legacy in innovation as well as a nod to its skateboarding line’s history of experimentation. The upper, inspired by late ’90s and early ’00s Nike running shoes, sits atop a classic cupsole with an exposed “Air” bag featured at the heel.

“Highlighting the Air is part of the early logic of the collaboration,” Abloh said in a statement. “The shoe is about incorporating past ideas in a new era — designing with purpose and cultural relevance to come up with something new.”

The Off-White x Nike Rubber Dunk is releasing globally via the SNKRS app, Nike.com, and at select retailers starting on Oct. 1. Each iteration will be exclusive to a specific region across the globe with the “Green Strike” colorway dropping in the Americas, “University Gold” in China and Asia-Pacific, and “University Blue” in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. The shoes will be available in extended adult, pre-school, and toddler sizing.
