16 Apr – James Cameron's "Avatar" franchise has just welcomed yet another big star to its cast.

The casting announcement was posted on the official Twitter of "Avatar", revealing that Malaysian actress Michelle Yeoh is now part of the '#AvatarFamily'.

"Michelle Yeoh has been cast in the "Avatar" sequels as scientist Dr. Karina Mogue," the post read.

Meanwhile, as a way of welcoming the latest addition to his star-studded cast, Cameron tweeted, "Michelle has always created unique and memorable characters. I look forward to working with her to do the same thing on the "Avatar" sequels."

The actress joins returning cast Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Joel David Moore, Dileep Rao, Stephen Lang, Matt Gerald and Sigourney Weaver, as well as new cast Kate Winslet, Cliff Curtis, Oona Chaplin and Vin Diesel, whose involvement the actor revealed on his Instagram earlier this month.

Yeoh, whose credits include "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon", "Tomorrow Never Dies" and "Crazy Rich Asians", will be seen on the big screen again this year in "Boss Level" and "Last Christmas".

She will be just as busy on the small screen as she will be reprising her Philippa Georgiou role to lead the upcoming "Star Trek Discovery" spinoff.
