‘It’s not cool for us’ – Klopp responds to Salah transfer rumour ahead of possible Liverpool ‘problem’
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp insists there have been no bids from Al-Ittihad for Mo Salah and he will deal with the “problem” when he has one.
There have been widespread reports indicating that Al-Ittihad are interested in bringing the Egypt international to Saudi Arabia this summer.
It is claimed that Al-Ittihad have made Salah a ‘David Beckham-like offer’ as they look to ‘replace Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema as the face of the Saudi Pro League.’
There have even been suggestions that Salah has agreed to a move and that it is now just down to the clubs to hash out a deal.
The Athletic, Fabrizio Romano and other respected sources have indicated that Liverpool have no intention of parting with Salah and that the only way a move would happen is if the former Chelsea forward forced a move.
And Klopp confirms that the Premier League club don’t want to sell Salah this summer and that the forward is still “100 per cent” committed to Liverpool.

Speaking at a pre-match press conference on Friday, Klopp said there have been no bids for Salah: “Yes (there isn’t). It’s difficult to talk about media stories as there’s nothing to talk about from our point of view. Mo Salah is a Liverpool player. There’s nothing there. If there was something the answer would be no (he’s not for sale).
“My life philosophy is I think about a problem when I have it. At the moment, there’s nothing. I said already if there is something, the answer would be no. Is Mo still committed? 100 per cent!”
On the huge money on offer in the Saudi Pro League, Klopp added: “It’s not cool for us, that’s clear. If we want a player from Wigan, say, we go there and we pay the price. Same in Bundesliga etc. Now there’s a next level and it’s not great but this is part of the business. Not sure you can change that.
“What makes it impossible to deal with is our transfer window closes and they stay open. Then we play until Jan 1 and this is our squad, we have that problem. I remember something like this in Russia long time ago. That was not completely crazy money.
“It’s new and challenging. I am pretty sure FIFA could [change their deadline] like this (clicks finger) but I am not sure they want to.”
