North West Prefers Living in Kanye West's Apartment—Would You?
After 16 years living her life in front of the camera—and, sure, millions of fans and followers—Kim Kardashian never shies away from offering a behind-the-scenes glimpse into her headline-making milestones. But on the most recent episode of The Kardashians, the SKIMS founder shared some unexpected tea about her co-parenting life with rapper Kanye West.
In an intimate conversation with big sister Kourtney Kardashian, Kim shared that her 10-year-old daughter, North West, compares her parent's lifestyles and claims her dad "has it all figured out." "He lives in an apartment," she recounts. "And then she'll start crying, 'Why don't you have an apartment? I can't believe we don't have an apartment!'"
But wait, since when does Kanye West live in an apartment? Just last year, he reportedly purchased a property right across the street from Kim's Hidden Hills digs. But a lot has changed since then, including his marriage to Bianca Censori, so we suppose it seems fitting that the newlyweds might want a change of scenery.
Not much is known about the rapper's new residence, but The Sun reports that he currently resides in a lavish apartment in tucked in Los Angeles's West Hollywood neighborhood. In a world where multi-million, star-studded spaces are the norm, it's rare to hear about a celebrity living in an apartment. (Though coincidentally, Kendall Jenner's beau, Bad Bunny, currently rents the most expensive apartment in NYC.) And, to add even more mystery to the situation, Kim claimed that her ex-husband doesn't have a nanny, chef, or security.
But, of course, this doesn't sound like your average apartment. With a price tag of $20,000 per month, The Sun says that Kanye's new home is packed with opulent amenities such as a 24-hour concierge, private cinema, and valet. And, if his penchant for neutrals and long-time collaboration with Axel Vervoordt give us any clues, it's safe to say the Yeezy designer is bringing those minimalist monastery vibes back.
While Kim didn't specify why her daughter prefers to stay at her dad's home, it's possible that North enjoys the simplicity of Kanye's new life. After spending your entire life in the spotlight, craving normalcy is definitely understandable—though we think its safe to assume that his home is probably lavish in its own way. But, if we can defend Kim for one moment, she does have a pretty spectacular real-estate portfolio. (Don't worry Kim, we'll be happy to stay at any of your properties.
