11 Sep – Hong Kong director Norris Wong is set to compete in the Best New Director category at the upcoming Asian Film Awards.
As reported on Mingpao, the female filmmaker whose first feature debut, "My Prince Edward" was highly praised by critics, told the media that she was deeply honoured by the nomination but saddened by the fact that there would not be an actual event that she could attend.
"I would not have the opportunity to go to Busan in person and communicate with other filmmakers of the region. It's a pity, but I will keep working hard and hope that we will get to participate again in the future," she said.
It is noted that Norris previously won multiple awards for the said Stephy Tang-starrer, including Best New Director at the Hong Kong Film Awards.
