Nora Ariffin's new husband denies the singer was a third party

6 Dec – The new husband of "Dilema" singer Datuk Nora Ariffin recently slammed all allegations against the songstress regarding their marriage.

Dr Rushdi Ramli, who is a Senior Lecturer at the Fiqh & Usul Department at the University Malaya, stated that there was no truth to the accusations that the singer was a third party in his previous marriage.

"I hope those who spread such slander will get their comeuppance," he said. "All the allegations spread were untrue. Maybe there were some envious parties who decided to spread such malicious words."

On the other hand, Nora said that she was perplexed regarding the rumours, which also claimed that she had actually married Dr Rushdi two years ago. However, the singer declined to share more details about their marriage.

In an Instagram post shared on 5 December, the singer wrote, "You can't force a marriage, as well as divorce. There is nobody in this world who has the right to force someone to end their marriage for no reason. That would be a big sin."

"Marriage is a good thing and should be announced, which is why I decided to tell everybody about it to avoid slander... yet the opposite occurred," she said.

As for her decision not to share details about the marriage, Nora said that it is in her right to have some privacy.

"I call for those who want to hurt us to come face us. Maybe that person has a problem and need help. I want to know the purpose for such rumour to be spread. After all this is my life, so why use social media and fake account to spread such lies?" she added.

Nora confirmed her marriage to Dr Rushdi Ramli last week, revealing that the said academician was a close friend of her late husband, Johan Nawawi, who passed away in 2017.
