Japanese idol group Nogizaka46 will be performing in Singapore for the first time at the upcoming Anime Festival Asia (AFA) on 24 November, a Facebook post by the organisers said on Tuesday (10 October) .

They will be performing at the AFA’s I Love Anisong concert, alongside artistes such as FLOW, Shiena Nishizawa, Tomohisa Sako and Iris.

This will be the first overseas show in Asia for the girl group, which was formed in 2011 to be the ‘official’ rival to the popular AKB48 (though they share the same producer, Yasushi Akimoto).

This is also part of their ‘expansion into Asia’, in addition to the opening of their new Weibo account, where a video was published of the members greeting their fans in Mandarin.

C3 AFA in Singapore will be held at the Suntec Convention and Exhibition Centre from 24 to 27 November.
