'No Time To Die' could be delayed again to November

No Time To Die is currently on track for UK release on 2 April, but reports suggest that it is set to be delayed once again.

Deadline has highlighted comments from a Dutch cinema owner in the publication BN DeStem, which has claimed that it's now aiming for a November release.

The industry outlet also reported that promotional partners for the movie have also been separately told that the movie is 'bound to' be moved to the autumn.

Yahoo has contacted the studio for comment.

A November 2021 release would represent a full two-year delay to the movie's original planned release date.

The first delay came after director Danny Boyle exited the production, after failing to agree on a direction for the movie, meaning that it shifted from a planned November 2019 release – the traditional spot for the Bond movies – to February 2020.

It was then delayed again to April, 2020, once True Detective and Beasts Of No Nation director Cary Fukunaga was confirmed to take over.

However, once the COVID-19 began to take hold, the movie's planned premiere in China was axed, among the first moves from a major movie studio in reaction to the pandemic.

The movie's publicity tour was then cancelled too, after which it was announced that the movie would shift to 12 November, 2020, in the UK and 25 November in the US.

However, that date too proved ambitious, and the current release date of 2 April, 2021, was confirmed last October.

Fukunaga has said that the final cut of the movie has been locked for some time now, and that he has no plans to change anything while it waits for a release.

He told Empire magazine over the summer: “You could just fiddle and tweak and it doesn’t necessarily get better.

“For all intents and purposes, we had finished the film. I had mentally finished the film. Mentally and emotionally.”

The movie stars Daniel Craig, in his last appearance as Bond, alongside Léa Seydoux, Rami Malek, Lashana Lynch, Ben Whishaw, Naomie Harris, Jeffrey Wright, Christoph Waltz, Rory Kinnear, Ralph Fiennes and Ana de Armas.
