6 Nov – Nikki Gil is excited about making her return to theatre two years after giving birth to her first son, Finn.
As reported on Push, the singer, who was announced to be part of the upcoming 2020 Repertory Philippines production of "Carousel", shared that she knew right away that she just had to accept the offer when it came.
"When the right material came my way, I realised that my baby is big enough and I think that I've adjusted to motherhood enough. The timing was just perfect so I said yes to this Repertory production," she said.
Gil also admitted that it will be a challenge for her to play the lead in the musical, since the placement is different.
"It's classical singing almost. And so I really have to train for this which I have been doing. I've been seeing my voice teacher. It's been a while since I last sang professionally. My repertoire consists of nursery rhymes so it's going to take some work but I'm very excited. It's what I love to do. We have time," she said.
On the other hand, when asked if she is returning to showbiz anytime soon Gil said that she is still open to it, though not at the moment.
"For now my plate is full," she said, adding that she and husband BJ Albert are planning to have another child in the future.
