Nick Wong will finish "Amazing Spring" with CGI

20 Sep – "Amazing Spring" director Nick Wong recently revealed that the upcoming movie is already 90 percent completed prior to the fire that broke out during the recent shoot in Malaysia.

As reported on Mingpao, the director, who appeared at a press conference held following the accident - which left several actors and extras with second-degree burns, shared that the rest of the scenes will be completed using CGI.

"I hope that we will be able to release the movie for next year's Lunar New Year, as scheduled," he said.

Nick stated that he is also in awe with actress Sharon Yeung, who - despite of her own injuries - has expressed concern about not being able to complete the movie.

"I told her not to worry about it, and that we will deal with it," he said.

He added that the production team is sorry and deeply grateful to all the cast members for their resilience, and would like to take responsibility for what had happened.

As for the accident itself, Nick shared that the production has insurance coverage, and that the next step is for the insurance company to handle the issue.

A fire broke out during the filming of a burning scene in Bandar Bukit Puchong, Selangor - when one of the wooden houses that were set on fire burnt out of control, resulting in burn injuries to several actors and extras including Sharon Yeung and Malaysian actors Joey Leong and Cedric Loo.
