Nick Cheung threatens lawsuit against game developer

17 Aug – Nick Cheung has recently threatened legal action against a game developer for the illegal use of his image to promote their online game.

As reported on Epoch Times, the actor, who previously popularised the term "Wo shì zha zha hui" in an advertisement for the game platform Tanwan.com, revealed in a previous talk show that he has already ended his contract with the advertiser in February 2018.

He also stated that they have come to an agreement that the other party will no longer use his image for their future advertisement.

However, a new online game has now emerged on Windows 10 app store using the aforementioned sentence as its name and Nick's image to promote its game.

In response to the misuse, Nick's agency, Star Talent Limited released a statement, saying that the developer of the game has not obtained any consent from the actor or the company, nor did they initiate any cooperation between two parties. Thus, the company is considering it as an infringement upon the rights of the actor's image, name and reputation.

"We are calling for the parties involved to delete the related contents as soon as possible, otherwise we will take legal action," the statement added.
