1. Pulau Tengah, Malaysia

That’s right. One of these private islands is right next to us in neighbouring Malaysia. It should come as no surprise, since Malaysia’s land (and sea) is so vast. There are plenty of uninhabited islands to date but Pulau Tengah isn’t one of them. Pulau Tengah is privately owned by a property developer in Malaysia and there is currently only one resort on the island – Batu Batu.

Batu Batu means stones or rocks and the name is derived from the beautiful huge rocks located around the island. Batu Batu is also an eco resort, which will make your experience here one that is very close to nature. The island is only accessible via Batu Batu’s privately chartered boat. Activities like diving and trekking are available on the island and when you choose to stay here, you have to opt for a full board as there are no other establishments on the island for you to get food from.

2. Koh Ouen, Cambodia

Song Saa endeavours to focus on delivering outstanding products and services, running a profitable business, and benefiting people and the planet with its property. Song Saa believes in delivering luxury without compromising its integrity. The resort is therefore designed to exist harmoniously with nature. Guests will be treated to the best dining experiences as well as wellness treatments here at Song Saa.

Though you will have the make a transfer to the island through Batam (so don’t forget to pack your passport!), the journey is so short, you won’t even feel like you’ve left the country.

Like other private islands, dining and spa treatments are all done within the vicinity and privacy of the resort. All guests will enjoy their stay in their sea villas, which are all overwater villas providing panoramic views of the ocean.

Thailand has so many islands that visitors love to flock to every season of the year. But if you’re tired of the busy islands of Phuket or Krabi and want to get away from partying at Koh Samui, then you will want to pay a visit to Koh Munnork by Epikurean Lifestyle. You will be far away from all the noise and happenings and just be surrounded by total peace.

Koh Munnork is virtually untouched with its pristine beaches and lush forestry. It is about 3 hours away from Bangkok, located at Klaeng Bay in Rayong Province. Again, it is accessible only by the resort’s private boat and the whole island spans across 18 acres. Guests are given the first class treatment at Koh Munnork Private Island, with access to an idyllic swimming pool, lounge terrace and beach bar.

Philippines is another hotspot for tourist for beach getaways what with gorgeous Palawan coming up and of course, the ever popular Boracay filling up quickly. But there are also more private options available there if you’re looking for a more quiet scene. Amanpulo is located on the remote island of Pamalican, which stretches 5km long and 500m wide.

This island is perfect for travellers looking for total serenity. There isn’t much to do on an island of this size, but you can participate in activities like scuba diving, spa treatments and even cycling and nature walks. If you happen to chance upon this rare occasion, you may catch baby turtles being released into the sea.
