19 Nov – After Donnie Yen decided not to return for the sequel of "SPL", it was revealed that the production company has found the replacement in the likes of Thailand's martial arts superstar, Tony Jaa.
MXDWN website reported that the "Ong Bak" actor has officially signed on to star in "SPL 2", which is slated to begin filming in spring 2014 after the conclusion of Tony's other movie project, "Fast & Furious 7".
According to an official statement released by the production company, Sun Entertainment Culture Ltd, Tony Jaa will star opposite Wu Jing in the movie directed by Terrence Cheung.
Meanwhile, the action choreography will be helmed by Dion Lam, who was also involved in the stunt work in "Spider-Man 2".
The movie will also be shot in Thailand, China and Hong Kong at the beginning of 2014. More information will be released soon.
