Timbaland announces collaboration with Jane Zhang

13 Aug – American music producer Timbaland has recently announced that he will be working with Chinese singer Jane Zhang in the near future.

As reported on Tencent Entertainment, the top producer, who has worked with artistes such as Justin Timberlake, Madonna, Jay Z and the late Aaliyah, recently uploaded a photo of him with the singer and wrote, "Ohhh im about to fk the world up with this one. My new artist from China. Her name is Jane, and she is INCREDIBLE!!! Don't believe me, just watch."

If everything goes well, this would be the first collaboration between the two and it has already sparked a heated discussion about the direction of Chinese music in the global arena.

According to industry insiders, Jane has been flying frequently to the United States since the release of her new album, "Seventh Sense", most likely to work on her project with Timbaland.

Meanwhile, sources close to the singer stated that Timbaland and Jane have been discussing about collaborating for quite a while, though the top producer's recent announcement was quite unexpected.

They also stated that all matters regarding the project are currently considered confidential and will be announced later.

Jane Zhang's rose to stardom began when she placed third at the "Super Girl" competition in 2005. She released her first album, "The One", in 2006 and five more after that.

The singer earned the nickname "dolphin princess" for her whistle register and has been compared to singers such as Mariah Carey and Christina Aguilera.
