Scarlett Johansson: Theatre is exhausting
Scarlett Johansson

Scarlett Johansson feels like she’s had the “same cold for three months”.

The stunning actress is currently performing in a Broadway production of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, where she takes on the role of lead character Maggie.

Having started her career as a movie star, the pretty blonde is finding the New York theatre show – which opened to the general public yesterday – tiring.

“The stamina of doing the three-hour shows has been a little bit draining,” she admitted to the BBC.

“I feel like I’ve had the same cold for three months with this job. Never gonna shake it!”

Scarlett is best known for her roles in iconic movies such as Girl with a Pearl Earring and The Horse Whisperer.

In 2010 she made her Broadway debut with A View from the Bridge and the star is excited to be back on stage, fulfilling a lifelong dream.

“It’s wonderful to be back on Broadway,” she gushed.

“I’m born and raised in New York and grew up just dreaming about some day treading the boards. To be able to have this opportunity in such a wonderful production, it’s just a dream come true for me. It’s lovely to be back.”

The transition from film to theatre has felt like a natural progression for the Hollywood beauty.

“I think the move just seemed like the right challenge for me. I knew that I wanted to do it. I didn’t know how I would do it, but I knew that I could do it... It just seemed like all the pieces fit into place...” she finished.
