Netizens slam Myolie Wu for political insensitivity

13 Sep - Hong Kong Netizens angrily threatened Myolie Wu when she publicly showed her support for her brother-in-law at a drive to win voters for a district election, according to Jayne Stars.

Myolie had reportedly posted up a photo of her on her Weibo which showed her with her brother-in-law, who is a member of the Democratic Alliance for the Betterment and Progress of Hong Kong (DAB); the largest pro-China party on the island state.

"Today, I came to Sham Shui Po to support my brother-in-law!" she captioned on the photo. As the photo made the rounds on internet forums, Netizens that were against the party started threatening Myolie that they would not vote for her as best actress in the coming TVB Awards.

After taking down the photo, Myolie replied: "I do not know politics; I am only supporting my family. My brother-in-law is trying very hard!"

Thousands of Hong Kong citizens had recently gathered on 7 September to protest the addition of a new subject in the elementary school curriculum, as relations between the former British colony and Mainland China remain on a tense level.
