Martial arts star Yu Chenghui passes away

6 Jul - Martial arts master and veteran actor Yu Chenghui has recently passed away, as reported by M Time.

The actor, who breathed his last on 5 July, reportedly had been ill for a long time, said good friend Lee Seong Bo.

"He had been ill over the past year. A farewell ceremony will be held in Jinan tomorrow. This is indeed a great loss to the Chinese martial arts," he added.

Born in 1939, martial arts practitioner and actor Yu Chenghui also worked as an action choreographer during his time. He was one of the most well-known martial arts stars in the '80s, who later appeared in various TV series.

His works include films "Shaolin Temple" (1982), "Kids From Shaolin (1984) and "The Four III" (2014), as well as TV series "The Heaven Sword and Dragon Saber" (2009) and "Journey to the West" (2011).

His last appearance was in Fan Bingbing's "The White Haired Witch of Lunar Kingdom".

He was 76.
