EN Fashion - Marc Jacobs is still "so excited" by his Daisy fragrances.
The original eau de parfum hit stores in 2007 and since then the designer has introduced various spin-offs, including the So Fresh and Delight editions.
Daisy Dream is the latest to join the family and comes in a cute rounded bottle, adorned with white plastic flowers.
“I still have the same reaction every time I see my name on a perfume bottle,” the fashion star grinned to WWD. “I’m always so excited and then I can’t wait to get it out there. We say the best test is the consumer.”
Marc has gone for a free spirited feel with the campaign, offering up a video of a model frolicking in a field. His friend Sofia Coppola directed the TV ad, while the print version has been shot by Juergen Teller.
“Sofia just gets it,” Marc said. “She understands the spirit of Daisy.”
The designer also puts his name to clothing and accessories and has worked on cosmetics ranges. He says there's no big difference between creating beauty and attire, it's simply "a different medium".
Jessica Lange, 65, was chosen as the face of Marc's beauty collection for Sephora. His pick of model caused a stir in the industry.
“I’m a big fan of [Jessica’s], and ever since I met her, I wanted to work with her again,” he explained. “We did Edie Campbell for the first campaign, and when we started discussing this new campaign, I wanted to do something different. I think it’s important to come to expect what you don’t expect. Don’t get into a formula - you’ve got to be very instinctive. And it wasn’t an age thing [with Jessica] - it was me trusting my instincts about beauty in all forms. That is how we operate. And I’d hate for it to be contrived.”
