11 Nov – Next year, fans will be able to experience as close as it gets to flying with Superman, as Warner Bros has decided to present Zack Snyder's summer blockbuster "Man Of Steel" in 3D and IMAX, according to First Showing.net.
"The film is going to be a visually exciting experience in all formats: 2D, 3D and IMAX. Anticipating how audiences today embrace 3D, we designed and photographed the movie in a way that would allow "Man Of Steel" to captivate those moviegoers, while respecting fans who prefer a more traditional cinematic experience. We've taken great measures to ensure the film and the story come first, and 3D is meant as an enhancement," said director Snyder in a press release.
The makers of board game Stratego has also recently announced that Superman, who was played by Reeve in the last century, had beaten a list of well-known characters, which includes Han Solo and Yoda from "Star Wars" in a poll for the greatest screen sci-fi hero of all time.
In "Man Of Steel", "Cold Light Of Day" star Henry Cavill will play Clark Kent a.k.a. Superman, while "Trouble with the Curve" star Amy Adams plays Lois Lane. Clark Kent is a journalist in his twenties who was adopted as a child by Jonathan and Martha Kent when he fell to Earth from the dying planet of Krypton. He feels alienated because of his unique abilities and struggles to find his own place in life. When the world is attacked, he becomes the hero named Superman to protect the Earth and its people.
"Man Of Steel" also stars Michael Shannon, Russell Crowe, Laurence Fishburne, Kevin Costner and Diane Lane, and flies into theatres in Malaysia and Singapore on 13 June 2013.
