Kris Wu joins Han Geng in upcoming movie
14 Aug – After filming Xu Jinglei's "Somewhere Only We Know" and recording the theme song for Guo Jingming's "Tiny Times 3", it was revealed that estranged EXO member Kris Wu (Wu Yifan) will be starring in a Sino-Korean joint production entitled "Xia You Qiao Mu".
As reported on Sina News, the singer-turned-actor will be working together with Chinese singer and former Super Junior member, Han Geng, as well as Korean actor Joo Won in the movie - an adaptation of an e-novel about three men falling in love with the same woman.
The movie, to be directed by Jo Jin-kyu of "My Wife is a Gangster" fame, is also co-produced by Han Geng's own company, YUEHUA Entertainment.
However, the news has not been received well by a segment of the Korean showbiz world.
The collaboration between Kris and Han Geng - who both left their respective idol group and sued their agency (Han in 2009 and Kris this year) SM Entertainment prior to departure, is deemed a slap in the face and will lead to anti-Korea sentiment in China.
However, an insider revealed that while the two former SMEnt idol stars are in the movie together, they will be shooting their scenes separately.
