Patrick Duffy warned Josh Henderson that his life would never be the same after joining the cast of Dallas.
The young heartthrob is one of the new additions to the hit US TV show. Josh plays John Ross Ewing, the son of J.R. Ewing. Patrick is famed for his role as Bobby Ewing and wanted to prepare his young co-stars for being catapulted to stardom.
“This is going to be a big transition. It’s funny because Josh Henderson had never been to the UK in his life. He is here now and he went out for a long walk and he just walked everywhere and was in big crowds and everything. I said to him, ‘Remember this moment because it’s never going to be the same again,’” Patrick told UK TV show This Morning. “This show has a mythology that follows it and anyone in the show is just being dropped into boiling water instantly, it’s not going to be a slow rise. It’s going to be instantaneous Dallas.”
Jesse Metcalfe has also joined the cast, playing Bobby’s son Christopher Ewing.
He was thrilled to appear in the show and get involved with the famous rivalry between J.R. and Bobby.
“Tumultuous, to say the least,” Jesse replied when asked about Christopher’s relationship with his cousin John Ross. “We are constantly at each other’s throats, and that’s the great thing about this series, it continues on with the same tradition that made the original so successful. Instead of the feuding brothers, we have the feuding cousins.
“There are a lot more grey areas with the next generation of characters. I mean, Bobby was so stalwart and quintessentially good and J.R. was evil.”
