25 Mar – Singapore's most popular director Jack Neo has recently announced his plans to direct a spin-off of his successful "Ah Boys to Men" franchise for 2015 release.
As reported on Filmbiz Asia, the movie, titled "From Ah Boys to Frogmen", will be another joint venture between Neo's J Team Production and mm2 Entertainment.
The SGD 2.5 million (USD 1.97 million) production will tell the story of a group of navy boys (known as 'the frogmen') and their experience of undertaking vigorous military training.
It was also announced that some of the original cast of "Ah Boys to Men" will join the new project, including Tosh Zhang, Joshua Tan, and Wang Wei Liang.
The movie is scheduled for filming in August, and is slated as a 2015 Chinese New Year release.
Meanwhile, the second instalment of Neo's 2014 Chinese New Year movie hit, "The Lion Men" is in the works.
