22 May – Donnie Yen recently confirmed rumours of a new Akira Kurosawa remake in planning, but denied having any knowledge if it is "Seven Samurai".

As reported on HK Top Ten, earlier, several sources reported that a Hollywood film company has been interested to invest HKD 800 million (app. USD 103,079,200) to remake the iconic movie, Akira Kurosawa's "Seven Samurai".

It was also rumoured that Donnie Yen, Zhang Ziyi and George Clooney were among the stars that have been approached to helm the movie.

To this, Donnie admitted that he has been in negotiations with a production studio that wanted him to work with Zhang Ziyi and George Clooney, but was uncertain about the details.

"I know that it would be an Akira Kurosawa film remake. But I don't know which one. But if it really is "Seven Samurai", I would look forward to it very much, because Kurosawa was a director who I admired."

The actor already has his hands full with a movie in the making, another one to begin soon, two more movies under his own production company, as well as the Hollywood movie, "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon 2: The Green Destiny".
