Andy Lau to join Zhang Yimou's "The Great Wall"

12 Mar – Rumour has it that Hong Kong actor Andy Lau will be joining the cast of Zhang Yimou's first Sino-Hollywood film, "The Great Wall".

According to Mingpao News, the actor has been cast alongside other famous Chinese stars including Eddie Peng, Zhang Hanyu, Lin Gengxin, Chen Xuedong, and estranged EXO member Lu Han, in the movie that co-stars "The Bourne Identity" actor, Matt Damon.

If the rumours are confirmed, this will be Andy's first Western film.

"The Great Wall" tells the story about a group of European mercenaries and their companions who came to the Northern Song Dynasty of China and accidentally entered the mysterious Great Wall; where they learned about the secrets hidden beneath the walls.

The movie is set to begin filming in April around Qingdao, and scheduled for release next year.
