Mnet will be taking this year′s Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) to Hong Kong!

The ceremony will take place at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre on November 30, and wrap up the year of 2012 with a big music festival. Under the theme ′Music Makes One′, MAMA will again bring together top stars and music fans from around the world to enjoy a variety of cultures.

Chairman Han Dong Chul of Mnet said, "MAMA is a music ceremony that represents Asia, and this year′s ceremony, in which it has met its fourth running, is the most important. For the last two years MAMA announced it would be a music ceremony for all of Asia, taking place in Macau and Singapore, and this year it will again show the power of Asian culture with K-Pop at its center."

He continued, "Hong Kong brings together the cultures of many different countries, and is rising fast as a gathering place for Asian culture. We believed Hong Kong would be the best place for MAMA to be held this year as the ceremony is also expected to play an important role as the centerpoint of future Asian cultures."

MAMA branched from the Mnet KM Music Festival (MKMF), which took place for over 10 years from 1999. It has continued to step through Asia ever since it was first held in Korea in its first year, stretching out to Macau and Singapore in the following years.
