The organiser behind pop diva Britney Spears’ first concert in Singapore is making changes to the performance stage and adding additional seating categories, a move which has drawn complaints from some fans who have already purchased tickets.

IME Singapore announced on their Facebook page that an extension runway stage will be added, along with a new standing zone category and two additional seating categories.

The new standing zone category (standing pen C) will be located at the end of the extension runway stage, behind standing pens A and B and is priced at $428.

The two additional seating categories, Cat 8 and 9, cost $488 and $388.

The announcement was met with complaints from several fans who already purchased tickets earlier, with many citing that these sudden additions are ‘unfair’.

Facebook user Andrea Ong shared a comment on the post expressing her disappointment that additional rows have been added in front of her Cat 3 seat because of these additional seating categories.

Users Wu Huishan and John Chng Zhiqiang also commented on the post asking about the drop in prices for Cat 4 and 5 tickets. (CAT 4 originally $468, now listed as $368, CAT 5 originally $368 now listed as $268)

Huishan said, “Hi, we bought Cat 5 tickets and noticed that the price has dropped. That’s really unfair for us who bought the tickets early! Please do something about this. Also, can we top up and change the category?”

Fans have also asked for upgrades in their seats after the changes were announced, but no requests for refunds in tickets have been posted. IME Singapore has directed requests for upgrades in seats to their official ticketing partner, SportsHubTix.

In their Facebook post, the organiser also seemed to address the ticket prices, saying, “After experiencing her Asia Tour Concerts, we do know that the concert will be a spectacular showcase of all her chart topping hits with more than 5 costume changes, accompanied by 14 tour dancers and travelling with 10 containers of stage props and production equipment.”

Britney Spears’ concert in Singapore on 30 June will be taking place at the Singapore Indoor Stadium at 8pm.

This will be the first time that Spears is bringing her world tour to Singapore, after performing at a closed-door showcase back in 1998. Among the other stops in her 2017 world tour is Tel Aviv, which was proving to be such a draw that Israel’s Labour Party rescheduled its elections.
