Baker & Cook

Fans of gourmet bakery Baker & Cook have new reason to celebrate: the launch of their artisan sourdough bagels. Available in three flavours (plain, onion sesame seed, and 7 grains and seeds), these bagels are made with wild yeast and undergo a long, slow process of natural fermentation—resulting in a delightfully chewy texture and complex flavour profile.

The bagels are fresh (never frozen), and pair perfectly with cheese, jams, spreads, cold cuts, and more. Find them exclusively at Cold Storage and Market Place by Jasons outlets. Don’t miss out on the bakery’s specialty breads either. In July, seek out their carrot and fennel bread: an orange-hued sourdough beauty that combines the sweetness of carrot with the fragrance of fennel seeds.

Swissbake

European-inspired bakery Swissbake’s latest offering is engineered to please both bread-lovers and active folks: a high-protein, low-carb loaf called the abend brot, or ‘evening bread’. This wheat-rye hybrid is loaded with nutritious linseeds, sesame seeds, and apple fiber, containing up to five times more protein and five times less carbohydrates than a typical loaf.

Lightly toast a slice and spread with premium French butter to truly appreciate its pillowy texture and nutty flavour. Or why not stack it with cold cuts and cheese for a hearty weekday meal? Made without artificial preservatives, the bread is made fresh daily and can be found at Swissbake retail outlets, Cold Storage, and Market Place bread shelves.

Paris Baguette

Popular Korean bakery Paris Baguette is beloved for its creative fusion of Asian-influenced pastries. Its new selection of savoury treats is perfectly on-brand. Munch on their chicken sausage pastry which comes sprinkled with aromatic spring onion and cheese, or laced with a sweet and spicy sauce. Buttery pastry cups filled with soft-boiled egg and turkey ham are a delightful breakfast, rivalling even the crispest croissants in Paris.

The bakery also has a new sweet offering—a chewy red bean donut. Inspired by the sticky texture of Korean rice cakes, this fried donut encases a sweet, smooth red bean paste and is best enjoyed with a cup of hot green tea. The items are available for dine-in and takeaway at all Paris Baguette stores. The new Chewy Red Bean Donut is only available at Paris Baguette’s Wisma Atria outlet.

Seriously Keto

The keto diet—a low-carb, high-fat diet that increases the body’s rate of burning fat—is trending, and Seriously Keto is leading the charge. As Singapore’s first fully ketogenic bakery, its breads are low in carbs, gluten-free and contain zero sugar—all without sacrificing flavour or texture. The outlet has recently launched two new bread items.

To start your day, slather your favourite French butter over a thick slice of rustic sourdough country loaf (available fresh or frozen). Or for an afternoon snack, enjoy your coffee with a mini savoury pretzel dog – mini chicken sausage wrapped in low-carb pretzel dough.

Old Seng Choong

Old Seng Choong is venturing into the gourmet bakery space with its line of European-inspired breads. Alongside the popular pandan chiffon cakes and apple pies, you can now order brioche loaves and cereal bread via their online store.

Founder pastry chef Daniel Tay, who created this concept as a tribute to his late father who used to own Seng Choong Confectionery from 1965 to 1996, has also rolled out a range of hearty country bread, sesame seed-speckled Turkish bread, an Instagram-worthy cherry tomato focaccia, and a classic airy ciabatta (begging to be dipped in olive oil).
