Netizens slam Sun Li for shutting down construction
21 Oct - It was reported that it wasn't just the leaders of the Jinzhong prefecture that drew the ire of netizens, but actress Betty Sun Li as well, whose complaints about a construction work prompted the local government to act swiftly to address it.
As reported on Liberty Times News, netizens have recently blasted the actress, who recently posted a complaint online about construction workers next to her hotel working into the night, and allegedly caused a subway project to be shut down.
Netizens pointed out that it is obvious that nightly construction has been approved due to weather concerns. Some stated that as the weather in Shanxi is freezing cold around November and would drag to March, it would make it impossible for workers to continue with the project, which is why they have to work all hours for the time being.
Sun's bashers accused the actress of not understanding the basic issue, and that she should have moved to another hotel instead, or follow the examples of her co-star Chen Xiao, who opted for a stay in Taigu instead for the duration of filming, where "no construction could interrupt his sleep".
It is said that the hotel where Sun was staying has already posted a notice about the construction prior to her complaint, saying that guests have the choice to either continue their stay or find a more comfortable place.
On the other hand, Sun's fans defended the actress, saying that there is no truth to reports that the subway construction has been shut down by Sun's complaint and that the actress was actually complaining about a different construction happening nearby.
