Miss Singapore’s national costume which will be worn by Zahra Khanum, was designed by Moe Kasim of Moephosis Concepts. It also features feathery wings ala Victoria’s Angels’ wings worn on their famous runway shows.

While a lot of netizens questioned the usage of both flags on Miss Singapore’s national costume dress, it seems to have drawn on the basis of the costume wear submission.

According to Paula Shugart, president of The Miss Universe Organization: “Contestants are able to wear traditional clothing or create something unique that represents an iconic item in their native home. It can represent their flag, a local flower, reference popular culture or even make a political statement.”
