SINGAPORE – Net-A-Porter is partnering with Capella Singapore for a series of curated experiences under the 'A Considered Life' initiative, which offers pathways to more considered ways of living, while highlighting the expansion of Net Sustain – its consciously crafted fashion and beauty products with guests of the Capella Singapore.

In September in Singapore, Net-A-Porter and Mr Porter will partner with luxury resort, Capella Singapore on a unique experience to encourage guests of the resort to discover the brands’ specially curated fashion, beauty and grooming products.

For one month, guests of Capella Singapore will receive a specially curated gift set, featuring a Net Sustain beauty kit and Mr Porter grooming kit, for guests to enjoy and experience during their stay. Accompanying the welcome gifts, guests will be invited to join a series of conscious workshops, from crafts and cooking to making their own edible gardens. The activities on offer aim to inspire guests to consider how the nine attributes of Net Sustain, and conscious choices, can be relevant to the way they shop and to their lifestyle.

On why the luxury e-commerce platform chose Capella as its first collaboration, Libby Page, Senior Market Editor shares with Yahoo Life SEA: "As we aim to enable customers to make informed and conscious choices through our Net Sustain edit, the partnership with Capella Singapore is the perfect continuation of this initiative. The hotel makes a conscious effort to preserve energy, reduce electricity, gas and water usage, and ultimately takes a holistic view on sustainability; their initiatives and commitment to sustainability go hand in hand with our Net Sustain values."

I believe what you wear is a form of self-expression and feeling good in what you wear can help elevate your mood. Clothes should make us feel confident, happy, and empowered.Libby Page

Some of the newest names making headway in the Net Sustain edit are Caes, Sindiso Khumalo, Connor Ives and Rare Review. "Brands such as Caes and Sindiso Khumalo use organic materials such as organic cotton, linen and hemp. Within our Net Sustain edit, customers can select the ‘Considered Materials’ attribute in order to select products made with a considered approach using materials and ingredients cultivated in a way that takes into account the welfare of people, animals and the environment," Page adds.

"This season, we are also championing new brands to the edit that are using pre-loved garments to create new collections. We are highlighting these brands’ efforts under our new attribute: Designed for Circularity. This attribute champions brands that help facilitate a shift in behaviour away from throwaway culture by focusing on solutions that promote product longevity. Championing this trend, Connor Ives and Rave Review are using recycled fabrics and bringing new life into pre-loved items."

As part of the initiative, Net-A-Porter is also partnering with The MeshMinds Foundation on an exhibition entitled ‘Please Insert Women’. The product of a creative technology incubation programme, the AR.T exhibition will feature original augmented reality (AR) artworks from four local female artists in Singapore working with Spark AR from Facebook for the first time to push the boundaries of their artistic mediums. Inspired by the attributes of Net Sustain, the exhibition at Capella Singapore will allow guests and visitors the opportunity to not only view the physical art pieces but to also experiment with the augmented reality effects, a total of nine artworks, inspired by the attributes of Net Sustain, will be displayed at the exhibition.

“A Considered Life” partnership kicks off in Singapore at the Capella Singapore on Sentosa island with the ‘Please Insert Women’ AR.T exhibition at Cassia Foyer, followed by the monthlong staycation experience from 1 to 30 September 2021.

Reservations for the Net-A-Porter staycation at Capella Singapore can be made through the hotel’s website. More information about the ‘Please Insert Women’ AR.T exhibition is available at www.meshminds.com/pleaseinsertwomen/net-sustain, where viewers can also experience the exhibition and AR effects from the comfort of their own home, or wherever they may be in the world.
