Neo And Morpheus Reunited! Fishburne And Reeves Team Up On John Wick 2

Laurence Fishburne and Keanu Reeves – aka Morpheus and Neo from ‘The Matrix’ movies – are finally back together for some long-awaited ass-kicking.

But this time, there are no blue or red pills, or future-based aliens using humanity as an oversized rechargeable battery.

They’re reunited for 'John Wick 2’, the action sequel currently being filmed in New York.

Snapped by website The Gothamist, this is the first anyone has heard of Fishburne being part of the cast, and will be the first time Reeves has shared the screen with him since the Wachowski movies.

As such, there’s no word on who he might be playing, or what his character’s plot might involve, other than appearing to be some kind of pigeon enthusiast.

He could of course just be visiting Reeves on set, but this looks like it’s a bit more than that, what with him being in front of the cameras and all.

What we do know is that Reeves is back as the retired hit man that you do not cross under any circumstances whatsoever.

The 51-year-old star was snapped in New York’s Chinatown last month duffing up several henchman-type dudes.

Returning for the second helping of bone-crunching action will be Ian McShane, John Leguizamo, Lance Reddick and Bridget Moynahan, with Ruby Rose, Common, Riccardo Scamarcio and Peter Stormare joining the cast.

No release date out there as yet, but it’ll be due out some time in 2016.

The first movie, helmed by former stuntman Chad Stahelski (who doubled for Reeves in the 'Matrix’ movies), was a surprise hit, making $130 million from its modest $20 million budget.
