Nathan Hartono earns 2nd place in Sing! China competition

Singapore singer Nathan Hartono has come in second in the Sing! China competition.
He is the first Singaporean to have made it this far in the popular reality show.
Competing against five other singers in the finals on Friday (7 October) night, he performed with Mandopop mega-star Jay Chou – his mentor in the contest – covering the latter’s hit song “Nunchucks”.
The 25-year-old Hartono later gave a solo rendition of Chou’s “The Longest Movie” for his second performance of the night. This was good enough to see him in to the night’s last round – decided based on SMS votes cast by spectators – in which he faced off against Jiang Dunhao.

Going first, Hartono performed a medley of Mavis Hee’s “Moonlight In The City” followed by Anita Mui’s “Nu Ren Hua” – both Mandopop classics. The 21-year-old Jiang then took to the stage, singing Wang Feng’s “Window Sill”.
The show then took a break as 81 music industry professionals we invited to cast their votes for the winner. In the end, it was Jiang who took the competition, earning just over half of the votes.
