Nancy Wu does most of the stunts herself
18 Aug - TVB actress Nancy Wu takes great pride of her performance in Jazz Boon's "The Unholy Alliance" as she has done almost all of the fight stunts herself.
As reported on HK01, the actress who spoke about her role as a female bodyguard in the said drama recently, stated that she took fighting classes in preparation for her role so that she could do the stunts.
"I can honestly say that I did around 95 percent of the action scenes myself. Some of them didn't go very smoothly though, and it really made me feel discouraged," she said.
In a previous interview, producer Jazz Boon shared that the scene in the teaser where Nancy's character does a cartwheel on Ruco's back was done by the actress herself, and that she accidentally sprained her foot during landing.
Speaking about her injuries, Nancy said that she had to use make-up to cover all the bruises she accumulated from the drama, though added, "The bruises proves that I have done an action project."
However, the actress stressed that she is not fully satisfied with her performance, and that there is still room for improvement for future projects.
On the other hand, when it was mentioned that her role in the new drama is similar to her character Tiu Lan in "A Fist Within Four Walls", Nancy admitted that Ching Yan does seem like a modern-day Tiu Lan.
