3 Dec– Nancy Sit recently admitted that she was one of the few people who saw composer Michael Lai on his last day on 1 December.
As reported on Mingpao, the veteran actress recently responded to messages sent by the media, confirming that the composer died at 7.55 in the morning surrounded by his family and friends, including her.
"Throughout the night, we were all singing masterpiece songs that Michael composed, especially "Precious Darling". That was the song he asked me to sing at last year's concert. Last night I sang it with a group of friends in the music industry," he said.
Nancy stated that although Michael's eyes were closed, she believes that he could hear them singing his songs.
"I can't help but shed a tear as I already missed him. Michael made a lot of contributions in the music industry. I am saddened," she added.
Nancy also stated that the composer had left his secretary Clara Lam to manage everything involving his affairs and funerals, and that she will announce the news in the coming days.
It is noted that Michael once dated Nancy for two years in the 1970s, and remained best friends following their breakup. The composer also helped Nancy return to showbiz following her divorce in 1995.
