Nancy Sit to hold 60th anniversary concert at HK Coliseum

21 Aug – Veteran star Nancy Sit admitted that she is absolutely elated to be able to hold a concert at the Hong Kong Coliseum to celebrate her 60th year in showbiz.

As reported on Mingpao, the singer-actress who appeared at the press conference announcing "The Sound of Nancy: Infinity Love Concert 2018", shared that it's a "double happiness" that she is able to not only perform at the Hong Kong Coliseum, but to be in the business for six whole decades.

"It wasn't easy to be in the industry for 60 years. I hope to repay everyone's support and be a good performer, and share this memory with you," she said.

Nancy revealed that she was actually approached by the late promoter Cheung Yiu Wing, known to many as the Father of Concerts, more than ten years ago to hold a show at the said venue.

"But I was busy shooting [TVB drama] "A Kindred Spirit" and [sitcom] "Virtues of Harmony" at the time. The kids were also still young. It was not until two years ago that the idea of a Coliseum show sparked again," she said.

However, Nancy stated that her multiple applications to use the venue were unsuccessful.

"I was discouraged at first. But I was encouraged to try again for my 60th anniversary. I decided to try one last time, and finally I was able to get the last month of 2018. I was very happy and excited," she said.

However, Nancy said that there may not be a possibility of adding more dates to the concert, since Andy Lau will be having his concert soon after.

"The Sound of Nancy: Infinity Love Concert 2018" will be held on 4 and 5 December 2018.
