Nadine Lustre on playing Darna: Why not?

29 Apr – Nadine Lustre seemed to be more and more open of the idea of her playing the female superhero Darna, despite previously expressing reservations about it.

As reported on PEP, the actress, who was asked about the possibility of replacing Liza Soberano as the new Darna at her contract renewal event, stated that she would welcome such an offer if any.

"It's nice, it's a good opportunity, it's a good project, so who's not open for it? I mean, if it's meant for me, I'll take it," she said.

However, Lustre stated that she would also be willing to let someone else take the role if they could give it justice.

"I know that everyone is going to pick the right one," she added.

Asked if she is fine being the third choice after both Soberano and original pick Angel Locsin left the project, Lustre said it doesn't concern her one bit.

"I mean, it can also be that it was not the right time or the right project for them, so I don't think that matters," she said.

It is noted that Darna's original director Erik Matti recently named Lustre as his pick, saying that the actress has a lot of female sensuality while looking tough and Filipina at the same time.
