Nadine Lustre is Erik Matti's top choice for the next Darna
16 Apr – If he still has a say about the female superhero movie, "Darna", director Erik Matti admitted that he would absolutely cast Nadine Lustre to replace Liza Soberano in the titular role, after the latter left the project last week.
As reported on Rappler, the director, who has quit the project himself last year due to creative differences, shared that he sees Lustre as the next capable actress to play the role.
"She has a lot of female sensuality and at the same time still looks tough and very Filipina," he said.
Matti explained that one of the important aspects about the role is to have an actress who could look plain and ordinary in her Darna form, but also exude the tough and sexy demeanour of Darna.
"Nadine can look all of that," he said.
In a previous interview, Lustre stated that she is honoured to get a mention by fans of the comic superhero, who have been naming actresses who could play the role. However, the actress stated that it doesn't have to be her.
