Class 95’s Muttons itching to open new Japanese joint mid-Feb selling S$6.80 donburis and more

We all know and love Class 95’s RJs, The Muttons. No stranger to the F&B scene with their roast meat eatery, Fook Kin, Vernon A and Justin Ang will be opening a new dine-in Izakaya with a cheeky name, Itchy Bun (or as Joey from Friends would say, “Ichiban”). The outlet will be located at Prinsep Street, making the well-loved duo owners of two F&B concepts.

The Muttons’ have kept the announcement of their upcoming launch on Instagram as vague as possible with the only hint that the new joint will not be an Izakaya, but an ‘easykaya‘; another one of their tongue-in-cheek humour coming to play (we expected nothing less!).

The 30-seater restaurant will also be modelled after diners in Kyoto’s famed Gion district, paired with a laidback vibe to fit Prinsep Street’s casual setting.

The pocket-friendly joint intends to serve mouthwatering comfort favourite alongside popular Japanese meals. On the menu, they’ll have various kinds of Donburi (from S$6.80), a humongous bowl of Surabashi Don (S$18.80) that will come with foie gras and ikura, and as per The Muttons’, “maybe the best chicken karaage you’ll ever eat”.

The Itchy Buns will be priced from S$6.80 for two pieces. Expect to find various fillings like mentaiko karaage and Japanese-style braised pork stuffed inside fluffy lotus buns. Side dishes like Fried Squid Tentacles and Crispy Fried Chicken Skin will also be available to order on the menu.

If you’re a fan of cheekily-named restaurants and Japanese food, I expect to see you at Itchy Bun once they open their doors mid-February!
