It’s one of the most magical moments, and one mum has decided to share the birth of her sixth child with all five of her other daughters.
In a series of incredible photos, captured by Rebecca Burt Photography, Casey Teller can be seen at her home in Virginia in the USA, in labour with her sixth baby girl, Tallulah Moon.
All five of her other children, Audrey, 12, Ella, 10, Lillian, seven, Zolie, four, and Zuri, two, are pictured huddled around their mum, as she sits in the bathtub cradling her new bundle of joy.
Speaking to Yahoo Lifestyle, Rebecca said she met Casey at a local Whole Foods shop and just felt the need to photograph her and her beautiful family.
“I approached her with a business card and it just blossomed from there,” Rebecca said.
Rebecca has only been a photographer for the past two years and this was her first time capturing a home birth.
She said she acted like a ‘fly on the wall’ and her adrenaline was on a high throughout the whole labour.
“I had to adapt to the vibe which was calm and soothing. I entered the room without making my presence known and just began to document… like a fly on the wall,” she said.
“The moment was about her. I was there about an hour and half before it was time and it all happened so fast. As I photographed, I had to hold back tears.
“I was in awe of how quick her family came to be a part of the moment. It was humbling. I don’t think in my whole career, I’ve truly felt the way I did on that drive home. It was incredible and Casey gave me a whole new meaning to empowerment and motherhood.”
Rebecca said the whole experience has given her a ‘sense of connection to their family’ and she’s even been chatting with Casey about documenting how Tallulah settles in with the rest of the five girls.
Casey told CafeMom she had never had a birth photographer before but is now so happy she has Rebecca’s photos to put in the memory box.
“The girls being there is so important to me,” she said.
“I have always felt like we are welcoming a new person into our family, [so] why would I not have the whole family there?”
