Woman 'cancels future gender reveals' with spoof farting viral video

We’ve seen some weird and wonderful gender reveals lately and this one might just be the most inventive (read: gross) yet.
YouTube comedian, Paige Ginn, posted a video of herself farting blue baby powder in a now viral video.
The fact that so many people believed it to be true is a hilarious look at the state of viral gender reveal videos sweeping the internet.
All future gender reveals are cancelled.

The tweet has been watched 11 million times and the people who thought it was true had very conflicting views about it.
“Some people will sell their soul for 5 seconds of attention.” One of the more cynical tweets read.
“This app never fails to bring unneeded things into my life.” Another said.
Yesterday, the comedian wrote: “All future gender reveals are cancelled”, perhaps a sign of her opinion on the popular trend.

The baby powder - or coloured chalk - lingers in the air for a couple of seconds while her friends jump up and down in surprise.
“My favorite [sic] part of this video is somebody squeezed colored [sic] chalk out of a tube and into her butt.” One comment astutely notes.
While most people were pretty grossed out by the whole thing, the video also came with its fair share of praise.
“Omg that’s actually clever.” One impressed tweeter wrote. Others simply tagged their friends claiming that it’s something they would do, but nobody realised it was all just a rouse.

The rise of viral gender reveal videos comes as the mum who originally invented the craze admits she has changed her stance on the trend.
“I've felt a lot of mixed feelings about my random contribution to the culture,” Jenna Karvunidis revealed in a heartfelt Facebook post.
“Who cares what gender the baby is? I did at the time because we didn't live in 2019 and didn't know what we know now - that assigning focus on gender at birth leaves out so much of their potential and talents that have nothing to do with what's between their legs.”
