Y’all. When I post a pic of my pooch on Instagram, I get paid in, uh, smiles. Not dollar bills. You too, right?

Well apparently we’re doing something really wrong.

We all know that celebs like Kylie Jenner can make anywhere from $100,000 to $300,000 for sharing a sponsored post on Instagram. But even regular folks—albeit regular folks with thousands or millions of IG followers—rake in tens of thousands of dollars just for sharing snaps of tooth-whitening kits and diet shakes.

According to a new article in The New York Times, Instagrammers with between three and seven million followers can charge about $75,000 for a single sponsored post. For those with between 50,000 and 500,000 followers, the price tag is about $1,000 per post.

That means that someone like Angela Simmons, who has 3.9 million followers—and was called out by name in Yo Gotti’s hit track “Down in the DM”—could be bringing in $75K for a post like this one:

Same goes for Tanya Burr, an author with 2.9 million followers, who recently shared this sponsored post:

You can pay to advertise just about anything on Instagram, too. Here’s Saffron Barker, who has more than 250K followers, sharing a sponsored post about a new song by Alex Maxwell (a singer with just over 1,000 followers):

You can tell it’s sponsored because Barker hashtagged it #ad.

And even big brands like Lancôme are getting into the Instagram influencer game. Here’s Victoria of In the Frow sharing an #ad for the brand.

What are you waiting for, guys?! Go get yourself a massive social following and retire by 35!
