Vanilla Luxury: What is one piece of advice you would like to give to other mums?

Samantha Wijaya: Beauty is a form of self-care, self-love and self-preservation - it’s meant to be easy, fun and effortless. You don’t need a lot to look good, find your favourites that work for you and start your day treating yourself before you “go to work” - at home or anywhere else! I really believe how you treat and feel about yourself have such a powerful impact and it will pour out to your children from within!

2. Christina Galioto

Hailing from Los Angeles, California, model Christina Galioto is a mother to adorable 10-month-old Valentina. Ever since entering motherhood, she’s found that taking care of her precious one is giving her lesser “me time”. However, she still ensures that time is set aside for her skincare routine.

Vanilla Luxury: What beauty product is a must-have in your daily routine?

Christina Galioto: My must-have product throughout the years is spray toner! My favourite is the Hydrating Floral Essence from Tata Harper, a hydrating essence that moisturizes and plumps with hyaluronic acid and natural humectants. It's 100% natural and not tested on animals. I first discovered the line backstage at NY Fashion Week and have been a loyal customer ever since. Christina Galioto: A beauty tip I would give to future mums is to stress less and make sleep a priority. No matter what products you slather on your skin, stress and sleep deprivation cannot be hidden. There are a lot of concerns when caring for an infant, but regardless of the situation, the baby will be calm if mummy is. And mummy will be calm when she's rested! So nap when the baby naps for a happy and healthy new life.

3. Nmita Doak

A Kiwi that used to be situated in Dubai, Nmita Doak is currently based in Singapore. Mother of two beautiful children - Zhanna, 6 and Wyatt, 5 - and a beloved fur-baby, Nmita has been busy pursuing her love for cosmetics through developing her upcoming makeup line, AmplioBeauty which is launching in October 2019.

Vanilla Luxury: How do you balance your career with family?

Nmita Doak: In the week running around with children, it is very much about the need for a quick low maintenance routine. In the mornings I use sunscreen and tinted powder as my base and AmplioBeauty eyeshadow, blush, contouring and highlighter kit to finish. This takes me four minutes. During the day, on the move, I only need to keep my lips moisturised with Vaseline Lip Therapy Rosy Lips.

Nmita Doak: After I put my kids to bed, my little beauty secret for years now is to apply good old Vaseline. This hydrates my skin and keeps it soft. I put this on all over my face once it is washed, and by the time I go to bed, it is absorbed into my skin.

As the Marketing Director at Charme Group, consisting of salon brands Empire Charme and Bellus de Charme with presence in Singapore, Cambodia and Myanmar, Lyn Bong works closely with clients of the salons, many of them being mothers. Being a mom to two active sons - Bryce, 5 and Royce, 6 - she too knows what it’s like to have to balance family with career and maintaining her own beauty regime.

Vanilla Luxury: What are some beauty issues that are common in mothers that you see in your clients?

Lyn Bong: At about 3-4 months after birth, hair loss peak is at its worse. It’s not uncommon to see many mothers coming into Empire Charme to seek treatments for hair loss. 5. Jasmin Lim

Aussie content creator Jasmin Lim is a mother to three beautiful girls - Madison, 6, Chloe, 3 and Olivia, 19 months old. Having just one child can be challenging, for Jasmin she too found that the time she had to spend on her own beauty regime has decreased significantly. She has to multi-task taking care of both her children and her skin.

Jasmin Lim: The beauty product that is a must-have in my daily routine is an electronic cleansing brush and a good cleanser. It leaves my face feeling clean, exfoliated and refreshed.

Vanilla Luxury: What is a beauty tip you have for other mums or future mums?

Jasmin Lim: My beauty tip would be to try to squeeze in a basic skincare routine for morning and night to help look after your skin. I know we all can be tight on time as a mum but even spending 5 minutes will help prevent the ageing process.

Single Hong Kong mum Whitney Wong confidently juggles between her own premium female shoe brand MioMia and taking care of her twin sons. Other than Instagram, Whitney runs a popular Facebook page as well featuring her two lovable sons. Whitney Wong: Due to having had to birth two kids at one go, I lost a lot of collagen and it resulted in my skin appearing saggier than before being a mum.
