Moses Chan blames production for bad acting

23 Oct - Moses Chan is partly blaming TVB production for the poor performances of actors in its recent dramas.

As reported on HK01, the actor, who was also criticised for his dull acting in "Line Walker: The Prelude", went on to Luisa Maria Leitão's talk show, "Telling Maria", where he expressed his belief that the script and time management play a big part in an artiste's performance.

"It's not how far that an actor can go, but how profound the character can be written. I can go as deep as you want me, but that depends on how deep the character is," he said.

As for time management, Moses stated that if all actors are given enough time to get into character, a lot can actually be achieved. The actor added that this is actually the reason why TVB's standard of performance has declined over the years.

"Even if you can give your best effort, you will not be able to feel it onscreen. Why? Because the scene won't be portrayed on a deep level. That is why I say that it all depends on the production too," he said.
