Morrisons launches limited edition double yolk eggs for Easter

You know it’s destined to be a great day when you crack an egg to discover two golden yolks to dunk soldiers into.

So you can imagine our excitement when we heard Morrisons is selling packs of rare double yolk eggs to celebrate Easter.

According to the supermarket chain, there’s a one-in-a-thousand chance of cracking a double-yolked egg for breakfast. In fact, younger chickens are statistically more likely to hatch double yolks – usually in their first batch of eggs.

Due to the rarity, only 1,000 four-pack eggs sourced from North Yorkshire will be on offer nationwide priced at £1.50.

Participating stores include Aldershot, Chingford, Camden Town, Failsworth, Erith, Harrow, Maidstone, Plymstock, Preston Riversway, Bradford Enterprise 5 and Redditch.

“You know it’s a lucky day, when you crack open an egg and find it has two yolks,” Robert Hoffman, egg buyer at Morrisons, said.

So we wanted to bring egg-lovers extra luck by offering a four pack of double yolk eggs. We hope they bring customers some good fortune this Easter.”
