With Christmas just around the corner (72 days away to be exact), it feels like the festive season has snuck up on us this year.

With social distancing likely to be enforced at Christmas, Morrisons has come up with a creative solution for those hoping to avoid the rush at supermarkets in the week leading up to the holiday.

The supermarket giant has unveiled its new ‘Morrisons Christmas Box’ which comes with enough to feed a family of four and retails at £50 per box.

There are 16 items in the box and it includes starters, snacks, sides, a dessert and the main event: a British Turkey Parcel.

A description of the box on the supermarket’s website says: “Discover our complete Christmas dinner in a box with all you need to create a festive feast for four. It’s full to the brim with succulent British turkey, sensational sides, an indulgent Belgian chocolate yule log, deep filled mince pies and a selection of cheese, rye sourdough crackers and festive fruit chutney.

“It’s a wonderful way to take the hassle out of your Christmas dinner planning.”

The boxes can be ordered on presale now, but they won’t be delivered until December 22 and 23 - just in time for Christmas.

Aidan Buckley, food to order director at Morrisons said in a statement: “We want to take the stress out of Christmas food shopping and give customers the ultimate hassle-free Christmas dinner to enjoy.

“In a difficult year, this is the simplest way to get your Christmas meal.”
