Morisette Amon apologises for walking out of performance

12 Nov – Morissette Amon has finally apologised for walking out from newcomer Kiel Alo's birthday concert earlier this month, and explained her side of the story.

As reported on ABS-CBN News, the singer, who was originally scheduled to perform as a guest artiste at the 6 November event, admitted on social media that what she did was out of character, but that she would still take full responsibility for her actions.

"I guess I was also triggered by the surprise interview minutes before performing, regarding the issues between me and my family. This private matter is something I purposely did not want to openly share for fear that healing might not prosper between us. The moment got the best of me, and it wasn't fair to those who expected me to come out on stage as one of the concert's guests that evening," she said.

The said interview refers to one she did with ABS-CBN News' Mario Dumaual back stage prior to her supposed performance. During the interview, Dumaual mentioned about Amon's conflict with her family - in particular her father Amay Amon, who was disapproving of her relationship with Dave Lamar.

"I also want to apologise to Sir Mario Dumaual who, I was told, felt bad about the situation. I understand completely that he was only doing his job and values it as much as I do mine," she added.

The singer also expressed hope that her fans would pray for her in her journey "towards healing, my family's and the people around me."

As for fans who expressed worry about her mental health, she assured, "As best as I can, I strive to achieve a sense of balance and stability. I feel for all those who are going through the same thing and just want to remind you, as I have been reminded, that we are not alone."
