More success for Adele as '25' goes diamond in the US

Adele's latest album, "25", has reached diamond status in less than a year reports Vulture.

As of September 20 the latest album from the singer has officially reached certified diamond status after crossing the 10 million unit threshold in the US.

The diamond status, which is equivalent to 10x platinum, makes the British singer the first woman to achieve two diamond albums in the US since Britney Spears last did it with 1999's "... Baby One More Time" and 2000's "Oops I Did It Again." The news also makes Adele the only artist this decade to have two diamond albums.

The singer enjoyed the same success with her 2011's album "21", but it took that album closer to two years to hit 10 million mark. Released in November 2015, "25" has achieved the same accolade in half the time.
